Fire Training
Fire department training
Members of the Prairie du Chien Fire Department hose down a house fire Saturday afternoon during a training session. Firefighters had rapid intervention training in the morning whereby they trained for a situation of a firefighter down or trapped inside the house. Two members of the Platteville Fire Department also took part in the training. There were two instructors from Mineral Point. After a brief respite, the house was then set ablaze at about noon and the firefighters trained at putting the fire out. Fire Chief Harry Remz said the fire department and the Prairie du Chien Police Department have been holding various training sessions in the house for more than a month. The Rural Bridgeport and Prairie du Chien Fire Department also held one training session in the house. The house was located on North Marquette Road across from Nelson True Value Hardware.
