Richard D. Clinton, 66, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was born on January 4, 1951, in Littleport the son of Lloyd L. and Winifred Joyce (Conner) Clinton. Richard was raised in the area and graduated from Central Community School in Elkader in 1969.

Richard served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973. He was united in marriage to Linda Schwietert in 1974. Together they lived in Oelwein and they divorced in 1979.  

Richard was married to Dawn Lange in 1986.  They lived in Elkader and divorced in 1989. Richard was employed at Arnold Motor Supply in Oelwein for several years and later years started a lawn business.

Richard enjoyed reading, playing video games, the Green Bay Packers, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include a sister and her family, Dee (Steve) Langel of Dubuque, and their children, Destiny (Mike Hogan) Ortman, Christina (Scott) Geweke, Dustin (Elise Hill) Fannon, and Erin Langel; a brother and his family, Steve (Carol) Ortman of Marquette, and their children, Crystal (Jon) Hartmann, and Steve (Stacey) Ortman, Jr.;  other nieces and nephews, Ron “Charlie”  Conner, Chad Conner, Brandy Carreon, Sherry Hansen, and Greg Ford;  great-nieces-and-nephews, Paige, Trace, Allison, Rachael, Ella, Annie, Mason, Sydney, and Delilah; and a sister-in-law, Sheryl Conner.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Rieck; his father, Lloyd Clinton; two brothers, Ron Conner and Donald Clinton; grandparents, Beulah and Wilbur Conner, and William and Anna Clinton; and his second wife, Dawn Lange.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery,  Littleport, Iowa.
