The Guttenberg Library Foundation is seeking books for its annual sale to be held in May.

Donations will be accepted from April 10 - May 1. Small donations (one or two bags) may be dropped off during regular hours at the Guttenberg Public Library. For larger donations, call Stephanie at 563-880-8332 or Tim at 563-229-1022 to make an appointment for delivery.

Organizers are seeking gently used hardback and paperback books, fiction and non-fiction, for children, young adults and adults. Also welcome are donations of CDs, DVDs, antique and collectible books, sheet music and jigsaw puzzles with no missing pieces.

A list of unacceptable donations includes: damaged books, textbooks, encyclopedias, law code or statues, Reader's Digest condensed books, surplus material from other institutions, outdated computer, business, current events, medical and travel books, outdated magazines (more than three years old) and cassette tapes.

Donation guidelines can be found at the library. The sale is the primary fundraiser for the Guttenberg Library Foundation. Proceeds are used for programming for children and adults.
