Theresa M. Bushnell
Theresa M. Bushnell, 81, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Saturday, March 25, at the Crossing Rivers Health Care in Prairie du Chien.
She was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Bloomington, the daughter of Joseph and Susan (Mergen) Moris. She married Ross Bushnell on Aug. 1, 1956, at St. John’s Church in Patch Grove. Theresa worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone for many years and was a member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary. Theresa also worked in the Campion High School Laundry, the Holiday Motel and as a salesperson for Lancaster Monuments. She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. “I’ll be OK”, is what she often told her family.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ross of Prairie du Chien; her children, Tamara (Mark) Otteson, of Prairie du Chien, Becky (Robin) Walters, of Nashville, Tenn., Randy (Jane), of Prairie du Chien, Janet (Randy) Vedvik, of Seneca, Brian (Liz), of Huntley, Ill., and Elizabeth (Rob) Bremmer, of Prairie du Chien; her brothers, Fritz (Darlene) Moris, of Prairie du Chien, Larry (Judy) Moris, of Cudahy, Gerald (Scherrie) Moris, of Brookfield; her sister Suzanne Boldt, of La Crosse; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Leo, Bernard, Joe, Paul, Charles, Robert and Raymond; and sisters, Mary Lou Sprosty and Elizabeth Moris.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating; interment will be later in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call on Thursday, March 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien where there will be an Eagles Auxiliary tribute at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
