Donna Foley, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died suddenly March 22, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. 

 

Donna Jean was born on Aug. 22, 1941, in Prairie du Chein, the daughter of Lawrence and Eileen Price Doll. She married Dick R. Foley on Feb. 11, 1961, in Wauzeka. Dick died in 2010.  She was an office manager for Methwick Manor for 15 year, retiring in 2013.

 

Donna was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, and spending time with and catering to her beloved grandchildren. She always gained great satisfaction from giving of herself, whether through her strong devotion to family, friends or the people she served in other aspects of her life. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

 

Donna is survived by her children Brett (Cheryl) Foley, of Springville, Iowa, Bruce Foley, of Des Moines, Julie Hebert, of Marion, Iowa, Cathy (Mike) Ahrens, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Lori McClure, of Altoona, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Ted) Malget, of Oelwein, Iowa; two brothers, Greg (Jolene) Doll, of Altoona, Iowa, and Bill Doll of Davenport, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dick; her parents; a brother Jack Doll; and sister Diane Swatek.

 

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 25, at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev Ivan Nienhaus. Burial will be Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Vigil will be held Friday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 25, after 9:30 a.m., at the church.
