Richard D. Stluka
Richard D. Stluka, 84, of Ferryville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 20, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1932, in Lynxville, the son of Frank and Helen (Benoy) Stluka. He married Joyce Pitzer in 1951, who later preceded him in death. He was married to Judy Alexander and they later divorced. He married Janice Burrow White on June 20, 1981.
Richard worked as a fork lift operator for General Motors in Janesville, until his retirement in 1985. He played the drums for the Vern Meisner Polka Band and the Ronnie K Band. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Janice, of Ferryville; his children, Eva (Michael) Kohls, Helen (Robert) Simon and Bob Stluka, all of Janesville, and Sandra Franklin, of Thornton, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Richie and Dick; a sister Doris Linder; and one grandchild.
A memorial gathering will be Wednesday, March 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, with a time of sharing at 10:30 a.m. A private family inurnment will be in the Dickson Ridge Cemetery in Lynxville. A memorial service will also be held on Richard’s 85th birthday, May 20, at his daughter’s home in Janesville.
