Intoxicated man fires gun, arrested
On March 4, at 10:18 p.m., the Crawford County Communication’s Center took a report from a concerned citizen who heard three consecutive gunshots and someone screaming at or near the residence of 26436 Highway 61 in the township of Marietta.
Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with a woman who initially stated she was in bed sleeping and denied hearing gunshots. The woman was intoxicated and stated she was home alone and did not know the whereabouts of her husband. After further questioning, an intoxicated man, later identified as Lucas J.R. Frey, 30, emerged from a nearby room. Frey was questioned about the gunshots and screaming coming from the residence. Frey admitted that he was the person who discharged a firearm and was yelling. Frey admitted to being in a heated argument with the woman and wanted to “let off a little steam.”
It was determined that Frey discharged a Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum into the ground on the north side of the residence.
Frey was placed under arrest for operating a firearm while intoxicated and was transported to the Crawford County Jail for booking.
