Joanne Anna “Sis” Duncan, 82, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, at Prairie Maison Nursing Home in Prairie du Chien. 

 

She was born on Nov. 3, 1934, in Cassville, the daughter of Clifford and Agnes (Brinkman) Shaben. Sis married Gerald Duncan on June 16, 1953. They raised two children, LuAnne and Tim. 

 

Survivors include her children LuAnne (Ken) Esser, of Holmen, and Tim Duncan, of Bagley; grandchildren Patrick (Lori) Esser, of Eau Claire, Krystal (Christopher) Matt, of Holmen, April (Joe) Delagrave, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Jesse (Tonya Abing) Richards, of Cassville; great-grandchildren Cameron, Olivia, Barrett, Braxton, Brayden, Brynley, and Cailee; her siblings Rose (John) Schnorrenberg, Gloria (Bob) Hudson, Leah Mae “Ahmmie” Esser, Lila (Julius “Jupe”) Hochhausen, Judy (Dennis) Laufenberg, Lonnie (Helen) Shaben; sisters-in-law Marlene Shaben and Kay Duncan; brother-in-law, Gene (Linda) Duncan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her brothers John and LeRoy; her sister, Jean (Vincent) Vondrum; and brother-in-law, Lester Esser. 

 

Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 313 Fredrick, Cassville, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Online condolences may be left at www.martinschwartzfuneralhomes.com.
