MFL MarMac McGregor Center January Students of the Month recognized
Staff at the MFL MarMac McGregor Center recently announced the January Students of the Month, recognizing the outstanding positive behavior of students. Students are selected by their grade level team of teachers each month, with two students from each middle school grade and three each from fourth and fifth grades earning this distinction. Students are selected because of excellence or significant improvement academically, whether that is shown through their grades, attitude, attendance and/or classroom engagement. Another qualification is that the students of the month have shown top-notch character in how they treat others and themselves.
Fourth Grade
Ava Goltz enjoys volleyball, dance and gymnastics. In school, she likes math, science and P.E. Two of her favorite books are “What is Mount Rushmore” and “Who was Sally Ride.” Ava wants to be a teacher or a doctor in the future.
Haleigh Nickolai loves music, art, P.E. and recess. Academically, she likes science and math. Haleigh enjoys the “Who Was” and “What Is” books. In the future, she wants to work at Walmart.
Carter Stoddard likes playing football, basketball and video games. He likes learning about math and social studies. A couple of his favorite books are “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “The Strange Case of Origami Yoda.” In the future, Carter wants to work for Infinity Ward.
Fifth Grade
Megan Beisner enjoys learning about social studies, math and science. Her favorite books are “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” the “Little House on the Prairie” books and the “Who Was” books. In the future, Megan wants to graduate, go to college to be a nurse and have a nice home.
Katelyn Gerndt likes volleyball in her free time and math and reading at school. Her favorite books are “Bad Kitty” and the “Baby-Sitters Club” books. Katelyn wants to be a vet in the future.
Clare Grau participates in softball, volleyball and band. She likes reading and art the best at school, and her favorite book is “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” Clare wants to be an art teacher or nurse in the future.
Sixth Grade
Kadence Pape participates in gymnastics, volleyball and softball, and she hopes to become a wrestling manager in seventh grade. She’s also part of Stu Crew. Kadence enjoys learning about history and science. Two favorite books of hers are “A Dog’s Purpose” and “The 5th Wave.” After high school, she wants to go to college to be either a teacher or a pharmacist.
Jonah Wille spends his free time with piano and guitar lessons, basketball, baseball, dance and band. He enjoys studying history, and his favorite book is “Swindle.” Jonah hopes to go to college in Branson or to the University of Iowa. He dreams of becoming a country singer or something involved with agriculture.
Seventh Grade
Lauren Haberichter keeps busy with basketball, softball, volleyball and church events. In school, she enjoys science and math concepts. A few of her favorite books are “Thirteen Reasons Why,” “Out of My Mind” and “Wonder.” Lauren wants to go to college to pursue a career in the medical field.
Andrew Heins enjoys football, wrestling and baseball. School-wise, he likes pre-Algebra and P.E. His favorite books are the “Harry Potter” series. Andrew plans to attend college at the University of Iowa in the future.
Eighth Grade
Victor Breuer keeps busy in band, choir and basketball, and he’s played football in the past. He plans to do track, as well. At school, he likes to learn about science and Algebra. His favorite books are “Harry Potter” and “A Nation Divided.” Victor wants to go to college for either engineering or architecture.
Riley Whitney is in Peer Helpers and church classes, and she plays volleyball and softball and is in chorus. Her favorite school subjects are language and literature. Some of her favorite books are “Unforgettable” and “Backlash.” Riley wants to go to college to be some sort of counselor or maybe a teacher, and she wants to have a family someday.
