Jim Cunningham
Jim Cunningham, 67, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, after a lingering illness.
He was born in Prairie du Chien, on March 16, 1949, to Anita and Ron Cunningham. He attended St. Gabriel’s and Campion schools in Prairie du Chien, St. Joseph’s School in Garnavillo and Starmont High School near Strawberry Point, Iowa. After graduation in 1967, he held several jobs locally before moving to Arizona where he remained.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Shirley Cunningham, of Glendale, Ariz., Betty Sands, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Mary Jane Keppler Cole (Terry), of Elkader, Iowa; his step-brothers, Mark (Betty) Keppler, of Elkader, Dan (Nancy) Keppler, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, Chuck (Ruth) Keppler, of Fayette, Iowa, and Bob (Diane) Keppler, of Strawberry Point; and step-sisters, Mary (Tom) Weber, of Volga, Iowa, and Janet (Tom) Thompson, of Rockwell, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ron and Anita (Cunningham) Keppler; his step-father Ray Keppler; his infant sister Sharon Cunningham; his step-brothers Tom, LaVerne and Terry Keppler; and step-sister Shirley Cisna.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Funeral services were provided by Abel Funeral Services, of Phoenix. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa.
