Dennis Dee Millard, 67, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, died on January 23, 2017, at his home.  He was born in Oelwein on December 3, 1949, to Lloyd and Blanche (Walker) Millard. He grew up in Pony Hollow near Elkader and graduated from Central High School in 1968. Dennis served honorably in the United States Navy.

Dennis was united in marriage to Diane Mixon. Two sons were born to this union. They were later divorced. On December 1, 1979, Dennis married Jill Sedgwick at St. Sebald Lutheran Church, Strawberry Point. Three sons were born to this union.

Dennis worked as a plumber as well as in construction and as a machinist. He spent much of his career with Swales Construction in Strawberry Point and was also employed at Henderson Manufacturing, Manchester. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Jill; five sons, Jasaan (Rebecca) of Sanford, Florida, Jeremy (Cyndee) of Apollo Beach, Florida, Kyle (Amy) of Guttenberg, and Cole (Jen) and Jordan, both of Strawberry Point; eight grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Justin, Aydan, Kylar, Amyra, Kamya, Abrym, and Maci; and five siblings, John (Linda), David, Danny (Kandi), and Adrian Millard, and Blanche (Chuck) Prentice.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Diane; three brothers, Lloyd Jr., Raymond, and Mike; and two nephews, Lance and Ira.
