NaValle Eglseder, 88, of Guttenberg, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.

Interment was at Garnavillo Community Cemetery, Garnavillo.

NaValle was born on May 9, 1928, in Elkader, the son of Henry and Pearl Eglseder.

NaValle received his education at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garnavillo and was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was united in marriage with Delight Armstrong and they were later blessed with two sons, John and Jerry. Years later, NaValle was married to Camilla Balk until she passed away in 2012. NaValle was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagles Club and loved to go fishing. 

Survivors include children, John (Karla) Eglseder, Guttenberg, Jerry (Stormy) Eglseder, Bellevue; Jerry (Donna) Balk, Betty (Ray) Meyer, both of Guttenberg, Dean (Mona) Balk of Los Angeles, Calif., Bonnie (Chuck) Morarend of Dubuque, Dave (Keri) Balk of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren, Amy Jo (John) Clefisch, Jordan Eglseder, Adam Toups, Ryan Toups, Derek (Jenna) Christoffer, Danny Christoffer; six great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. 

NaValle was preceded in death by his parents; two wives and grandson, Dustin Eglseder. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Guttenberg Eagles Club.
