Caroline Rita Schultz, 67, of Prairie du Chien, died on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Mayo Hospital in La Crosse. 

 

Caroline Rita was born on Sept. 16, 1949, to Fred and Mary (Hying) Lane in Dubuque, Iowa. She graduated from Patch Grove High School. Caroline was united in marriage with Jim Schultz, they later divorced. She worked as a waitress and in customer service throughout her life, in her younger years, Caroline loved camping and fishing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cross-stitching, crocheting blankets, watching Dallas Cowboy Football and WWE wrestling.

 

Caroline is survived by her children: Jamie (Pam) Schultz, of Prairie du Chien, Kim (Shawn Lachman) Schultz, of McGregor, Iowa, and Eric (Jamie) Schultz, of Prairie du Chien; one son-in-law, Steven “Kris” Kessler, of Elkader, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; and special friend, John Dorpat.

 

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Lane; brother, James Lane; sisters, Katherine Lane and Lucille “Toots” Lane; daughter, Stacey (Schultz) Kessler; and one son, Kenny Schultz.

 

There will be a private family service at a later date. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service is helping the family with arrangements
