Kathryn F. “Kay” Kramer, 93, of Prairie du Chien, WI, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Hubbard Care Center. 

Kathryn Faye (Shaw) Kramer was born on Jan. 22, 1923, in Dodgeville. She graduated from Prairie du Chien Public School with the class of 1940. On June 11, 1941, she was united in marriage to Eldon “Bud” Kramer in Prairie du Chien. Kay worked at 3M for eighteen years before enjoying a lengthy retirement. 

Kay will be remembered for always having a smile. She had many friends throughout her life and she loved to visit with them and have coffee. She enjoyed playing cribbage and cards. Over the years Kay liked to go dancing with her husband “Bud”. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Hubbard Care Center for the tremendous care and compassion they gave to Kay.  

Kathryn F. “Kay” Kramer is survived by her children, Sandra (Allan) Standorf, of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, Karen LaPointe, of Prairie du Chien, and Kenneth (Deb) Kramer, of Madison; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and one nephew. 

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Roger Kramer; brother, Bob Shaw and son-in-law, Terry LaPointe. 

Memorial Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. There will also be a one-hour visitation before services at the funeral home on Saturday.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie du Chien.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls, Iowa, is helping the family with the arrangements.
