Royale A. Daniels, 82, of Maynard, Iowa died on Thursday morning, September 29, 2016, at Oelwein Health Care Center in Oelwein.

Royale Avis Halverson was born August 20, 1934, in Gunder, Clayton County, Iowa, the daughter of Roy G. and Alvina (Ruroden) Halverson. She graduated from Elkader High School, Elkader, Iowa, in the Class of 1952. Royale married James E. Daniels and two children were born to this union, Jari and Brad. Royale and Jim later divorced. Royale was a homemaker, Avon lady, ceramics teacher and worked for Rockwell Collins for many years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Highland Lutheran Church. Royale enjoyed traveling, ceramics and visiting with family and friends.

Royale is survived by her daughter: Jari (Dan) Schmitt of Winthrop; son Brad (Mary) Daniels of Randalia; three grandchildren: Traci Schmitt of Waterloo, Staci (Andy) Osborn of Winthrop and Joshua Schmitt of Winthrop; four siblings: Gary (Carolyn) Halverson of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Lynn (Vernon) Ames of Marion; Larry (Kristen) Halverson of Elkader; and Jaynee (Phil) Ruckdashel of Elgin; She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

Royale was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James R. Halverson, and a godson, Gary James Halverson. 

Funeral services were held  at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016, at the Highland Lutheran Church, rural Elkader, Iowa with Pastor David L. Coffin officiating. Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment was at Highland Lutheran Cemetery, rural Elkader, Iowa.
