A one-vehicle crash in Patch Grove Township Friday, Sept. 23, resulted in multiple citations for a Bloomington man, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At about 9:35 p.m., the sheriff’s office was notified of a crash near Harville Road, from which several occupants of the vehicle were being transported to the hospital via private vehicle for injuries sustained in the crash.

According to the sheriff’s office report, Chad Klein, 39, had been driving a 2003 Chrysler Concord west on West Patch Grove Road when he failed to negotiate a corner. The vehicle left the roadway on the right side, struck a guardrail over a culvert, and then struck an embankment before coming to a rest in a field driveway. All occupants of the vehicle left the scene before law enforcement were notified. Upon investigation, authorities found that two passengers in the vehicle were transported by private vehicle to Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien for treatment of minor injuries. Klein and another passenger fled the scene to an unknown location.

The vehicle received severe damage and was removed by the owner, according to the sheriff’s office. Klein will be cited for hit and run property adjacent to a highway, failure to notify police of an accident, and failure to have control of a vehicle. Other citations are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
