Sandra K. “Sandy” Baughman, age 73, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center following a four year battle with multiple myeloma. 

She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Glendale, Calif., the daughter of Henry and Juanita (Williams) Burchfield. 

She married Conrad Baughman on Sept. 2, 1972. Sandy worked at the Metro Theater, Specht’s IGA, J & L Office Equipment and for many years at the Peoples State Bank in Prairie du Chien. She enjoyed bowling and loved to dance. 

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Conrad Baughman of Harpers Ferry, her children, Shelley (Tom) Maier, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; Christa (Troy) Morrison, of Prairie du Chien; Tyler (Mariella) Baughman, of San Jose, Calif.; and Jodi Pitman, of Shelton, Wash., seven grandchildren, Sherrah, Breanna, Chelsie, Carson, Raquel, Kira, and Destin and two great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Travis Baughman, a grandson Conrad Baughman, and a brother Larry Burchfield.

A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will be held on what would have been her 74th birthday; Friday, Sept. 23, where her family will be greeting friends from 4 to 7 p.m., with a eulogy to follow at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien. A private family inurnment will be later.
