Royalty crowned, awards presented at annual Clayton County Pork Producers banquet

The annual Clayton County Pork Producers banquet was held Saturday, Sept. 10, at Johnson’s Reception Hall in Elkader and featured the presentation of awards and the crowning of the new queen.
An evening meal was served, and the program followed the meal. Ed Ruff, vice-president of the executive board of the Clayton County Pork Producers, gave the welcome and introduced the guests.
County awards were presented as follows: The Restaurant Award recipient was Joe's Pizza of Guttenberg.
The Appreciation Award recipient was Steve Wagner of Elkader.
The Master Pork Producer Award went to Loren Dempster of Garnavillo.
The highlight of the evening was the crowning of new county royalty.
Megan Glawe is the new 2016-2017 Clayton County Pork Queen. She is the daughter of Brian and Susan Glawe of St. Olaf.
Little Miss Pigtail is Emme Wikner, daughter of Neil and Stephanie Wikner of Monona.
The Clayton County Pork Princess is Macie Weigand, daughter of Adam and Lisa Weigand of Monona.
