Prairie du Chien Police Chief Chad Abram (second from left) and Detective Stacy Polodna (left) visited the Prairie du Chien Correctional Institution on April 29 to present to the Restorative Justice Class and receive a donation for the K-9 unit. They spoke to about 45 inmates and several staff about their perspectives on how crime affects the community as a whole, individual crime victims and themselves as police officers. Their message was well received by all who attended. Prior to the officers’ visit, PDCI staff led two fundraisers in which both staff and inmates participated, raising a total of $925.27. The money was donated to the K-9 unit for the purchase and training of the city’s new drug dog. Pictured, handing Abram the check is Brandie Wagner, along with Michelle Gieseke, both social workers at PDCI. (Submitted photo)
