Ralph Junior Corlett, 88, of McGregor, Iowa died Wednesday, July 20, at Crossing Rivers Health, Prairie du Chien. 

Ralph was born June 19, 1928 to Ralph Leigh and Ruby Mae (Entwisle) Corlett in McGregor. He attended Sny Magill Country School and graduated from McGregor High School in 1946. 

Ralph was united in marriage with Olga Mae Eggen on Oct. 1, 1949 at the First Lutheran Church, McGregor. To this union ten children were born.

Ralph was given the nickname “Farmer” at a very young age and the name stayed with him his entire life. He was a dairy farmer, beginning his lifelong calling on his father’s farm in Sny Magill. After moving to Volga and Waukon, he returned to Sny Magill to farm Olga’s family homestead. In 1976 he moved to Vinita, Okla. for two years then returning to the area to run a large dairy operation in Bridgeport, for nearly twelve years. In later years he moved to Pleasant Ridge where he continued to raise livestock and farm.

Ralph enjoyed working and occasionally participating in trail rides and fun shows. He was a co-founder and longtime member of the Whistling Bit Saddle Club. In his younger years, he hunted deer and pheasant for recreation. Ralph recently celebrated his 88th birthday, he always enjoyed the company of close friends and family.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Olga Mae Corlett of McGregor, Iowa; ten children, Cathryn (Dennis Brooks) Corlett of Monona, Iowa, Calvin (Linda) Corlett of McGregor, Mina (Ken) Siewert of Merril, Morris Corlett of Prairie du Chien, Blane (Cheryl) Corlett of McGregor, Matt (Cheryl) Corlett of Prairie du Chien, Neil Corlett of McGregor, Kari Dohse of Boonesville, Mo., Andrew (Guenna) Corlett of Garnavillo, Iowa and Randall (Stacy) Corlett of Prairie du Chien; twenty three grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Heaton of Portland, Ore.; and one sister-in-law, Charlotte Corlett-Bruce of Vinita, Okla.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parent, Ralph and Ruby Corlett; three grandchildren, Kyle A. Corlett, Lisette M. Corlett and Erin O. Hallberg; one brother, Charles Corlett; one sister, Shirley Cook; and one son-in-law, Paul Dohse.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in McGregor, with Pastor Gary Hatcher as the officiant. There will be a two hour visitation at the church before services on Sunday.

Burial will follow at First Lutheran Norwegian Cemetery, McGregor.

Arrangements are pending with Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor.
