Let’s go ‘to a garden party’ on St. Feriole Island
By Correne Martin
Ever attended a garden party? Ever been through the St. Feriole Island Memorial Gardens? Now’s the time to make sure you can mark both of these items off your bucket list.
The Memorial Gardens will host a Chamber Business After Five along the theme “Went to a Garden Party” on Wednesday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend, enjoy the serenity of the gardens, have a little food and drink, listen to music, meet the master volunteer gardeners, meet the Chamber Ambassadors and ultimately learn more about what has made St. Feriole Island Memorial Gardens such an attraction in Prairie du Chien.
Music by Dan Moris and friends will be featured on the stage of the new harmony garden, which is currently being built. Taste small samples of beer and wine and some locally-made, light summer snacks.
In addition to the exquisite beauty and grandeur of the gardens, as well as the harmony garden, tweaks to the bike trail have been made and new walkways added. Also, ask about plans for the pond and wood sculpture.
In case of rain, this event may be canceled (announcement would be made on local radio). “May the sun shine on our garden of dreams.”
