Area Athletes on to State Track Meet
Area track athletes going to State Meet in La Crosse

Three athletes from area schools have qualified for the State Track Meet to be held at UW-La Crosse on June 3-4.
Wesley Schwager of Prairie du Chien qualified in the high jump by leaping 6-1 to finish fourth at the Division 2 Sectional at McFarland on May 26. Schwager will be competing at the State Meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. Schwager’s 6-1 jump was a personal record.
Tatem Baures of Wauzeka-Steuben qualified for the State Meet in the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. She ran a 5:28.31 to win the 1600 at the Division 3 Sectional at Bangor on May 26. She also won the 3200 in a time of 12:02.87. Baures will begin her competition at the State Meet in the 3200 on Friday, June 3 beginning at 3 p.m. Baures will compete in the 1600 at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4.
Franci Gates of River Ridge took fourth in the pole vault with a height of 8-9 at Bangor on May 26. Gates will begin her competition at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4 at the State Track Meet.
