Prairie du Chien suffered its first loss of the season 5-2 at the hands of visiting River Valley in an SWC baseball game Tuesday afternoon.
Prairie got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second inning.
Each team scored a run in the fourth as Prairie held a 2-1 lead.
River Valley scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 advantage.
Valley scored the last run of the game in the seventh to gain the 5-2 win.
River Valley had 9 hits and committed no errors. Prairie du Chien had 8 hits and committed 2 errors.
Casey Hogenson fanned 2, walked 3 and gave up 7 hits in 4 innings in the loss. Chas Sagedahl whiffed 2, walked 1 and allowed 2 hits in 3 innings.
Brogan Potter was 2x4 for Prairie at the plate. Hunter Sheckler was 2x2. Jonathan Dyer hit a double.
Prairie du Chien now has an 11-1 overall record. The Blackhawks are 4-1 in conference action and are alone in first place.
