Douglas August Dahlin Jr., 80, of Soldiers Grove, died April 20, at Sannes Skogdalen, in Soldiers Grove. 

Douglas was born July 7, 1935 to Douglas, Sr. and Grace (Bolman) Dahlin in Max, N. D. He graduated from high school in Max, N. D. and the University of North Dakota at Minot where he earned his degree in business and finance.

Douglas was united in marriage with Arlene Bredahl in 1960. They later divorced. In 1987 he was united in marriage with Lois Ahrens in Prairie du Chien. 

His career pursuits included serving as an independent claims adjuster, accounting instructor at western Wisconsin Technical Institute (Western Technical College), and real estate development. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, playing cards with family and friends, and cooking. Douglas was an avid Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family during summer visits and the holiday season’s. Douglas was a longtime member of the La Crosse Rifle Club, and past member of the La Crosse Moose Lodge, and Elks Club. He was also a member of the Prairie du Chien Eagles and served as a member of the Prairie du Chien school board. 

Douglas is survived by his children, Brenda (William) Weber of Coon Valley, and son Michael Dahlin of greater Miami, Fla. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jesse Ostrowski of Clearfield, Utah, Nicholas (Stacie) Weber, Patrick Weber, Natalie Weber and Grace Weber, all of La Crosse; and three great-grandchildren, Jack Weber, Grayson Weber, and Holle Weber. 

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas, Sr. and Grace Dahlin; brother- and sister-in-law, James and Jody Dahlin; wife, Lois Ahrens-Dahlin; and one aunt, Iris Schafer.

A private memorial service for immediate family is planned for a later date.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Prairie du Chien, is helping the family with arrangements.
