Public meeting held soon for Highway 27, Prairie du Chien to Eastman

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements for Highway 27 between Prairie du Chien and Eastman. The meeting is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6 at the Eastman Village Hall, 112 Shanghai Rd.

The project will involve reconstruction and rehabilitation of 10 miles of Highway 27 between Cipra Road in the town of Prairie du Chien and Water Street in the village of Eastman. Several horizontal curves in the rural portion will be reconstructed to current standards; the alignment of the remainder of the roadway will generally follow the existing alignment. Side road intersections, driveway entrances, culverts and storm sewer will be replaced.

Construction is currently scheduled for 2018.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT representatives and representatives from the engineering consulting firm of MSA Professional Services, Inc. will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
