Delores Mae Klemp, 91, of Guttenberg, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson. Visitation was before services at the church.

Interment was at Garnavillo Community Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Arrangement were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Delores was born on Aug. 28, 1924, in Farmersburg Township, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Matull) Meyer.

Delores was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Oct. 26, 1924, by Rev. Braun. She was later confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on July 4, 1937, by Rev. H. H. Steege. Delores received her grammar education in rural Garnavillo and graduated from Garnavillo High School on May 21, 1942. On Aug. 14, 1943, Delores was united in marriage with Carl Edward Klemp in Dubuque. To this union, four children were born, Karl, Diann, Roger and Kevin. 

Delores farmed for 16 years and in 1965, she started working for Muters Speaker Company until 1980. She then started working at the Guttenberg Care till her retirement on April 28, 1995. 

Delores is survived by her children, Diann (Roger) Benzing and Roger (Nancy) Klemp; daughter-in-law, Diane Klemp; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen (Don) Kann and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Kevin and Karl; siblings, Mildred, Lloyd, LeRoy and Arthur; and two half-brothers, Albert and Irving.
