Catherine A. Quick passed away on Feb. 7, after prolonged illnesses. 

She was born on Jan. 8, 1937 to Carl and Helen (Harris) Stagman in Brodtville, Wis. She grew up in Brodtville and graduated as the valedictorian from Bagley High School in 1955. After high school she worked at a dime store in Dubuque and at the telephone office in Prairie du Chien. In later years she worked for Swiss Colony as order taker and customer service representative for 16 seasons.

She married Gary Kellogg in Elkader, Iowa on July 19, 1958. He later died in a construction accident in Decorah, Iowa on Sept. 24, 1963. She then moved back to Wisconsin with her three sons, Michael, Mark and Maurice. Her daughter Marlys was born the following January. On June 21, 1965 she married Charles Quick at the Little Brown Church in Nassua, Iowa. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. From this union one son, Dwight was born in 1966.

Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, crafts and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time she spent researching family genealogy and compiling photo albums for each branch of her family tree. Catherine enjoyed traveling and took many trips throughout the U.S. including Hawaii. She also had the occasion to visit several European countries including France and Germany. She crossed Iowa many times to visit her sons in Nebraska.

Those left to mourn include her husband Charles of Prairie du Chien; her children, Michael (Shelly) Kellogg of Bagley, Mark (Mary) Kellogg of Boys Ranch, Texas, Maurice (Cindy) Kellogg of Dakota City, Neb., Marlys Kellogg (Quintus Burks) of Middleton, and Dwight Quick of Prairie du Chien, with whom she lived; eight grandchildren, Elaine, Terri, Mitchell (Jacklyn), Jesse (Michelle Stanek), Montgomery, Maxwell, Matthew, Sarah; step-grandchildren Jamie (Brad) Kramer, Lindy (Kevin) Zart, and Josh Mueller; five step-great grandchildren, Deanna, Courtinee, Amelia, Logan and Dexter. Her first great granddaughter, Madison Kellogg was born on Dec. 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Helen Stagman; first husband, Gary Kellogg; and step-great grandchild, Felicity.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, with Rev. Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Interment will follow in the Brodtville Cemetery in Wyalusing Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday. 

The sands have passed through her hour glass. Her race on earth is run. She has reached her eternal home at last. And God hath said “Well Done.”
