Iowa man gets one year for OWI, hitting pedestrian
A Farmersburg, Iowa, man was sentenced in Crawford County Circuit Court to one year in jail and five years of probation for striking a pedestrian while driving drunk in Prairie du Chien.
Christopher K. Gossman, 33, had pleaded no contest to charges of hit-and-run involving great bodily harm, and causing injury while operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. Gossman was granted work and school release while in jail. According to the criminal complaint, Tracy Hutchins, 63, Prairie du Chien,was crossing at the intersection of Blackhawk Avenue and Michigan Street at 10:40 p.m. on Oct. 31, when an eastbound vehicle driven by Gossman struck Hutchins and fled the scene. The vehicle was later located in Clayton County, Iowa.
