Joyce Marie Fernette, 80, of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, following a brief illness. 

She was born March 27, 1935 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Lawrence and Agnes (Gokey) Fernette. She worked as a data processor assistant boss for Farwell Ozman and Kirk Wholesalers in St. Paul, Minn. She later worked for West Publishing in St. Paul until her retirement. She was a member of the Eagles Club Aerie 1502. 

She is survived by many cousins and extended family, especially Donna Gokey of Prairie du Chien. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jack Fernette.

A memorial service will be Monday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien with Rev. James Weighner officiating. A private family inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services, where there will be an Eagles Club Auxiliary tribute at 12:30 PM. www.garrityfuneralhome.com
