Patricia R. Wachter, 83, of Woodman passed away Friday, Dec. 4, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

She was born June 5, 1932 in Bloomington, the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Weir) Reukauf. After her graduation from teachers college, Pat taught school in the one room country school on Military Ridge. She married Louis Wachter on Feb. 19, 1955 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. She and her husband farmed and raised their family of seven in the Woodman area. She was a proud member of the West Grant School Board, a lifetime member of the Mt. Hope American Legion Auxiliary. She and Louis operated Pat and Louies Place in Mt. Hope for several years. Pat enjoyed antiquing, summer trips to Balsam Lake and rooting for the Brewers and Packers. 

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis of Woodman; her children Clifford (Trudy) of Woodman, Tom (Cindy) of Millville, Tim of Bagley, Wendy Wachter of Prairie du Chien, Susie (Bill) Mergen of Millville, and Lisa Wachter of Bloomington, Minn., daughter-in-law Denise Wachter of Woodman; brother Terry (Donna Hubanks) Reukauf of Bloomingtion; sisters, Arv Martin of Bagley, Marilyn Roby of Madison and Trudy (Terry) Blackbourn of Scottsdale, Ariz.; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Brad; brothers-in-law Kenneth Martin and Jerry Roby.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Mary Ann Floerke and Lance Wetter officiating. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery in Mt. Hope. Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred that will be designated for some of Pat’s favorite charities.
