Kenneth Calvin Hubbard, 88, of Mederville, died peacefully Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Convalescent Home in Edgewood, following a short illness.

He was born March 28, 1927, to Charlie and Alice (Nading) Hubbard, rural Mederville. He attended country schools, served in the Army from 1946-47 in Kentucky, worked as a mechanic in Elkader, Edgewood, and Delhi. He received much Ford training early in his career.

On June 1, 1952, Kenneth was united in marriage to Lucille Mork. Three children were born to this union. The couple lived in the Mederville area for 63 years.

As an adult, he was baptized and became a member of the Lutheran church.

His greatest joy was seeing the family come through the door for a visit. Also, he enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, fishing in Minnesota and Wisconsin, playing Huckley Buck, dominoes, teasing the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Mederville, his children, Julie (Mike) English, Meri (Jim) Mott, Charles (Sue) Hubbard; seven grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Mott, Angie (Jeff) Johnson, Kenny Mott, Lucas (Adriane) Hubbard, Cole (Katie) Hubbard, Leah (Chad) Hood, Candace (Adam) Wilson; six great-grandchildren, Wesley and Caleb Mott, Sara and Emily Johnson and Owen and Chloe Hubbard.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; sister-in-law and a nephew.

The family is extremely grateful for the excellent care that Kenneth received from the Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Summit Center in Finley Hospital, Dubuque and Hospice of Comfort, Manchester.

A family service will be at a later date.
