Robert H. Steele (Bob), 86, of Wauzeka, passed away peacefully on Sept. 29 at the home of his daughter in Naples, Fla., with his two daughters at his side. 

He was born May 10, 1929 in Boscobel, the oldest of eleven children born to Ernest and Kathryn (Welch) Steele. He married Nellie Riley in 1955. and is survived by their three children Shannon, Sheryl and Rodney Steele. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one son Robert Steele; three sisters, Delores Chamberlin, Joan Poole and Kathryn (Little Sister), four brothers, John (Jack), Larry, Thomas (Kelly), Gerald (Chick) Steele, and his longtime companion Lorena Bronson. 

He is further survived by one sister Janet Lund; two brothers Donald and Ed; six grand-children; eight great grand-children; his close friend and companion Ruth, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.

Bob was a member of the Prairie SDA Church where he served as Sabbath School teacher, deacon, elder and treasurer. He loved Jesus and longed for the 2nd coming. He went to sleep in the full knowledge of a coming Savior.

Memorial celebration of his life will be held Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Prairie SDA Church, 927 S. Dousman, Prairie du Chien. He will be laid to rest in the Cave Springs Cemetery, North of Mt. Zion, on Chamberlain Lane. Directions will be available at the Memorial service.
