Jonathan L. Helgerson, 36, of Prairie du Chien and formerly of Bagley died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday, Sept. 12, in Trempealeau County. 

He was born Feb. 3, 1979 in Prairie du Chien the son of Roger and Debra (Horstman) Helgerson Sr. Jon will be remembered for having a passion for many things in life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking as he was always experimenting with different dishes. His biggest passion in life was his time spent with his son Travis. 

He is survived by his son Travis; his mother Debra (Scott) Day of Prairie du Chien; sisters, Rebecca Matthews of McGregor, Iowa, Elizabeth (Rick Bessel) Helgerson of Prairie du Chien, Patricia Helgerson of Hazel Green; brothers, Billy Helgerson of Prairie du Chien and Roger Helgerson Jr. of Millville. He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; along with several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Prairie du Chien, Rev. Stan Pegram officiating, with burial in the Bagley Cemetery in Bagley. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
