New bench sits on USPS grounds

There is a new bench at the Prairie du Chien Post Office next to the flag pole. The bench was donated by the family of Clem Wachuta, a former Postal employee who started his career in 1948, and ended it as Postmaster, serving from 1978 until 1986. A dedication for the bench was held on July 3. Pictured, from left, are brothers (standing) Jerry, Jim, Clem Jr., Tim, Ed, and (seated) is mother Caryl. The family also donated a solar light for the Prairie du Chien Post Office’s flagpole. (Photo submitted)
