History made in Crossing Rivers births
Two area families experienced historic births at Crossing Rivers Health in the days surrounding the hospital’s big move from its former facility on Taylor Street to its new location, which opened to patients on June 11, along Highway 18.
Just one day before Crossing Rivers Health moved into the new medical center, Lillian Jasmine Beall made history by arriving at 8:32 a.m. on June 10. The baby girl is the daughter of Roseann Beall, of Prairie du Chien. The delivering physician was Dr. Chris Mees, of Gundersen Clinic-Prairie du Chien.
Casen Richard Johnson was the first baby born at the new Crossing Rivers Health, just five days after the state-of-the-art facility opened. The baby boy is the son of Serita and Rob Johnson, of rural Wauzeka.
“It is a pleasure to share the news of the birth of these babies,” said Chris Schroeder, RN, OB director. “Having a baby is one of the most memorable moments in the life of a family, and now these infants have been a part of history in their own families and at Crossing Rivers Health.”
The experts in the Crossing Rivers Health birthing department pride themselves on making the birthing experience as comfortable and memorable as possible. Families can expect a private, spacious labor and delivery suite with a pull-out sofa, large whirlpool tub, state-of-the-art fetal monitoring and infant security system, and many more amenities. New mothers receive advice from an international board certified lactation consultant, as well as a complimentary massage, and a follow-up home visit by a registered nurse.
