Richard J. “Dick” Pellock, 80, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. 

He was born Aug. 6, 1934, on Du Charme Ridge, north of Prairie du Chien. Dick graduated from Cassville High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball, and later attended UW-Marquette. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1953 until 1956. On May 14, 1960, he was united in marriage to Joann K. Wood at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. In 1964, Dick began employment as a welder with John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works, retiring after thirty years in 1994. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. Dick enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports enthusiast following the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, high school, college and professional teams. He dearly loved keeping up with his family and their activities.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Joann; a son, Mitchell and a daughter, Kimberly Russell; grandchildren, Ryan, Cory, Katie, Jeff and Taylor; three brothers, Rod (Marilyn), Doug and Greg (friend Trish) Wiest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Anna Wiest and a beloved son, Jeffrey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Cassville Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may call on Friday, Jan. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville, where a 3:45 p.m. parish scripture service will be held. Friends may also call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Richard J. Pellock Memorial Fund has been established.
