Norma J. Erdenberger, 83, of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1931 in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Irvin and Emma (Rubel) Walz. Norma was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Prairie du Chien. She married Jack Erdenberger on Nov. 5, 1952 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1992. She and her husband farmed in rural Prairie du Chien for many years. Norma was a volunteer caregiver for many people throughout this community and was a proud past recipient of the Danny Ruehlow Award. 

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Roger) Taylor of Bagley, and Ginny (Jeff) Nelson of Minneapolis, Minn.; her sons, Mike (Kim) of Florida, Pat (Lisa) of Prairie du Chien and John of Platteville; her brothers, Jim (Margaret) Walz of Prairie du Chien, Glen (Connie) Walz of Madison; brother-in-law Norlan Arnsdorf of Rockford, Ill.; her sisters, Geri Bobrowicz of Green Bay, LaVonne Doss of Hales Corner, and Sheila (Phillip) Levin of New Jersey; sister-in-law Barb Walz of Monona, Wis.; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother Bernard Walz; her sister Beverly Arnsdorf and a brother-in-law Vic Bobrowicz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien.
