Van, two motorcycles involved in accident
On Friday, July 4 at 3:48 p.m., the Crawford County Dispatch Center was notified of a motorcycle versus van crash on Highway 27 north of Cipra Lane in Prairie du Chien Township.
Michael Lehner, 56, Burnsville, Minn., was driving a mini van south on Highway 27 when he slowed down for a vehicle parked along the roadway. Richard Lacey, 67, Guttenberg, Iowa, was following driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he rear-ended the Lehner van. Then Nancy Lacey, 63, Guttenberg, driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, rear-ended the crashed motorcycle.
Lehner and his six passengers escaped injury. Richard Lacey sustained a cut to the arm and bruises. His wife Nancy sustained a broken leg along with bruises. Both Lacey’s were taken to Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.
Assisting at the scene were the Bridgeport Fire and First Responders, the Prairie du Chien Police Department, Tri-State Ambulance and Bob’s Towing.
The accident remains under investigation.
