On Sunday, June 29, at 4 p.m., the Prairie du Chien Grasshoppers took on the Bi-State Bulldogs in American Legion baseball action at St. Feriole Island ballpark.

The Hoppers started off the game well, scoring two runs in the first inning, while the Bulldogs only managed to wrangle two runs out of their first two at bats. However, during the bottom of the second, the Hoppers made it clear they were out to win, adding three more runs to their score.

In the top of the third, pitcher Tanner Heisel was replaced by Casey Hogensen, who kept the Hoppers out of trouble and only allowed one additional run to be scored that inning. The score after three complete innings sat at 6-3, Hoppers in the lead.

During the fourth inning, the Hoppers extended their lead, scoring four more runs, leaving the score at 10-3.

The fifth inning saw one more attempt from the Bulldogs to battle back, but they left the inning with only one additional run—their final one of the game. From there, the Hoppers went on the command the lead and take the game, finishing with a score of 13-4.
