Sheila B. Bolsinger

Sheila Mae (Divis) Bolsinger, 73, of Colesburg, died peacefully Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation was before services at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 7, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colesburg, conducted by Rev. Stephen A. Lundgren. Lector was Carol Simons. Ushers were Les Simons and Leo Roling.  Placing of the pall was done by Robert Bolsinger, Jeffery Bolsinger, Dawn Martin, Jennifer Hambright and Jammie Martin. Giftbearers were Chase Martin, Ryan Martin and Mellyssa Boyd.

Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Farley. Casketbearers were Darwin Miller, R.J. Martin, Joe Hodges, Ed Bolsinger, Larry Block and Terry Bolsinger. Honorary pallbearers were Chad Bolsinger, Brad Bolsinger, Jacob Bolsinger, Christopher Bolsinger, Chase Martin, Ryan Martin and Michael Hambright Jr.

Sheila was born Oct. 21, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of Rudolph and Suzanne (Mahoney) Divis.  She is a graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School.  On December 11, 1966, she was united in marriage to Robert Bolsinger in Asbury.

Sheila and Robert made their home in Dubuque until 1967, they then moved to Farley where they lived with their children and fostered several others through the years.  During this time Sheila worked at A.Y. McDonalds as a secretary from 1965-1980. In the summer of 1980 they moved to Colesburg where Sheila worked at The Hub until 1981. In the fall of 1981 Sheila and Robert owned and operated The Deluxe Café until they closed in October 1991. Soon after Sheila went to work at Products Unlimited until they closed; she then retired.

In 2005 Sheila was diagnosed with four different types of cancer in her lungs. Over the last nine years she has fought a very courageous battle. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, Colesburg.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Bolsinger of Colesburg; three children, Jeffery (Terri) Bolsinger of Sarasota, Fla., Dawn (Jammie) Martin of Colesburg, Jennifer (Michael) Hambright of Stanley, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, Chad Bolsinger, Brad (Ana) Bolsinger, Christopher Bolsinger, Emily Bolsinger, Robert (R.J.) Martin, Chase Martin, Ryan Martin, Mellyssa Boyd, Cody (Shoshanna) Martin, Jacob Bolsinger, SuzAnne Hambright, ShyAnne Hambright, Heaven Hambright, Michael Hambright Jr. and Ashley Melchert; four great-grandchildren, Liliana Bolsinger, Isaiah Regan, Crystal Colner, and Adrian Martin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Bolsinger on Oct. 4, 1968.
