Jerry Foley, 69, of Prairie du Chien passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 13, at his home.
He was born Aug. 13, 1944 on the family farm, the son of Thomas and Vermilda (Meyers) Foley. He married Chris Seeley on July 10, 1963. Jerry retired from John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa after 30 years of service at the age of 49. Following his retirement he volunteered at the Bargain Boutique and worked at Johnson’s One Stop and Design Homes. His love for his family was his greatest gift. Jerry was always willing to lend a hand even sharing his donuts. Grilling out was his passion.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Chris; his children Deb of La Crosse, Scott of Madison, Mark of Seneca and Brian of Edgerton; his grandchildren, Jaime, Dustyn, Dustin, Paige, Noah, Drew, Ashley, Hollie and Aleece; great grandchildren, Natalie, Lily, Ashton and Xavier; a sister Marge Watters of Boscobel; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Foley and Rose Krachey both of Seneca along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Tammy; his parents, along with his brothers, Pat, Mick, Bill and Bernie.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Seneca. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday, May 17. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
