“The weather was ice cold but it was still an opportunity to compete along with our alternates since our meet earlier in the week had been cancelled,” Coach Martha Bauder said. “ We did good to have seven personal records and three season best marks and did hang on in the 4x100 meter relay to qualify for the Drake Relays to be held this coming weekend at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.  The relay of Abby Gifford, Emily Asche, Kiana Stender and Haley Schroeder will run at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25th along with the top 80 relay teams in the entire state.”

“Individually these girls had personal records: Hannah Kuehl had two excellent personal records in the 3000 meter and 1500 meter runs – and especially the 1500 meter run where she had a superb final lap by coming from about 20 meters back of sixth place to capture it right at the wire, Morgan Jacobson in the shot put by one-half inch, Alyssa Barker in her 800 meter split, Rachel Berg in her shuttle hurdle split, and Ashley Funk had a great personal record in long jump by recording our second best jump of the season and also a great personal record in the 1500 meter run.  We are looking forward to a warm up in the weather for next week’s action.”
