Theresa Marie Marso, born Aug. 5, 1940, in Prairie du Chien, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, at her home in Ocala, Fla., as a result of ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease.
She was the daughter of Vencil G. and Mildred M. (Mara) Forst.
She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1958. Theresa worked at National Decorated Metal, in Prairie du Chien, after graduation.
On Aug. 5, 1961, Theresa was united in marriage to Dale Marso. They later moved to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, area, where she was employed at Farmstead Foods (formerly Wilson Foods).
They moved to Ocala, Fla., in 1991, where Theresa was employed at Walmart for a period of time.
Dale died in Nov. of 2003. Theresa was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Ocala. She loved traveling, dancing, her yard-work and caring for her pet dog, “Nicky.”
Survivors include four sisters, Jeanette Nolte of Des Moines, Iowa, Elizabeth (Roger) Kuehl of Garnavillo, Alma (Henry) Bockenstedt of Edgewood, Iowa, Carol (Dale) Becwar of Hiawatha, Iowa; a brother, John Forst of Prairie du Chien; a sister-in-law, Luanne “Bobbie” Blum of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brothers-in-law; Edward Linder of Prairie du Chien, Archie Curley of Baraboo, and Frank Turner of Ely, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews that considered her a special aunt.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale; a sister, Mary Ellen Linder; sisters-in-law, Millie Curley and Nan Turner; brother-in-law, Harmon Nolte and Ora Blum.
Funeral services were held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala. Burial took place at Bushnell Veterans Cemetery with assistance from Roberts Funeral Home.
