Bulldog golf teams begin season

The MFL MarMac girls golf team won its opening meet with a 235-244 win over the girls from Edgewood-Colesburg on April 10.

 

Lexi Dettebarn was a medalist for the girls, carding a 52 to lead the Bulldogs. Annie Berns just missed being runner-up medalist with a 55. Mollie Ward managed a 62 score for third best. The fourth score in the team total was Chloe Landt, who scored a 66. Erin Kinley, playing her first ever nine holes, was the fifth best Bulldog at 68. Other Bulldog scores were Bailey Martins with a 74, Emily Hanson with a 75 and Kayla Keehner with an 83. Kylie Moose turned in a 78, but picked up on a hole or holes, so it is not a true score. 

 

Ed-Co was led by  Kelsey Elledge with a 54 and Jordan Bolinger with a 59. Courtney Putz scored a 61 and Kylie Amling had 70, rounding out Ed-Co’s 244.

 

The Ed-Co boys cruised to a 185-271 win over the Bulldogs. Tyler Ries and Austin Hansel were medalists, with each getting a 45 for Ed-Co. Third best Kaleb Payne with a 47 and fourth best was Kolton Moser with a 48. 

 

Twelve of the 13 Ed-Co boys bested the best Bulldog boys score, which was carded by Devin Huinker with a 61. Nathan McGlaughlin was next with a 65, followed by Cade Kuenster with a 68 and then a 77 by Chris Larson. Other scores for the Bulldogs were a 78 by Alex Butikofer, Spencer Rose a 84, Logan Taylor an 87, Shane Hexom a 100 and Colton Eastman a 103.
