The 2014 boys and girls golf teams return some players from last season. On the girls side, Lexi Dettbarn, Annie Berns and Chloe Landt return for their third season, while Baily Martins and Mollie Ward return for their second. Newcomers include  Erin Kinley, who is the lone senior girl, Emily Kinley, Kylie Moose, Kayla Keehner and Emily Hanson.

Coaches Joe Milewsky and Eric Dettbarn will count on the returning players to get their scores down into the mid-fifties over the nine hole competitions.

On the boys side, third year players Caleb Newton and Nathan McGlaughlin return, as do second year players Brayde Miller and Devin Huinker. Colton Eastman is the lone senior boy. Other new players include J.P. Murphy, Shane Hexom, Logan Taylor, Chris Larson, Spencer Rose, Austin Bernhard, Cade Kuenster and Alex Butikofer.

The boys team will need to find some mid-forty scores to be competitive. With a lack of course time due to weather, both teams may be rusty for a few weeks.

This year’s conference meet for the boys will be at Luana. The girls will play at Big Rock in Fayette. The boys sectional will be at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo and include defending state champions Waterloo Columbus Catholic. District is at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike. The girls sites will be announced at a later date.
