Joyce M. Tucker
Joyce M. Tucker, 51, of 39574 Great River Road, Holy Cross, and formerly of Worthington, died Monday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2014, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg following a sudden illness.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 21, at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Paul’s in Worthington, conducted by Rev. Dennis Quint. Lector was Russ Roling. Eucharistic Ministers were Deanne Luensmann, Lois Manternach and Kenny Schultz. Placing of the Pall was done by Bob Jaeger, Brian Luensmann, Eric Luensmann, and Rachel Kintzle. Giftbearers were Addison Luensmann, Cole Luensmann, Tristan Luensmann and Nicholas Kintzle.
Burial was held in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Worthington. Casketbearers were Brian Kintzle, Cory Deutmeyer, Kevin Tucker, Michael Wolfe, Tim White and Jordan Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were the drivers of Royal Coaches.
Joyce was born June 6, 1962, in Dubuque, daughter of Allan and Coletta (Grobstick) Tucker. She was a graduate of Cascade High School in 1980 and she also attended Upper Iowa University. She was employed as a personal assistant at Unlimited Services in Guttenberg. Joyce was also co-owner of the “Royal Coaches” bus service. She thoroughly enjoyed her work to which she devoted much of her time. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce was a member of the St. Paul’s Parish.
She is survived by her special friend, Bob Jaeger of Guttenberg; three children, Brian (Jenni) Luensmann of Worthington, Eric (Deanna) Luensmann of Worthington and Rachel Kintzle of Sherrill; eight grandchildren, Cole, Taylor, and Ashlee Luensmann, Addison, Tristan, and Kaylee Luensmann, Nicholas Kintzle and Brylee Engelken; parents, Allan and Coletta Tucker of Dyersville; seven siblings, Colleen (Rick) Wolfe of Worthington, Darrell (Rose) Tucker of Worthington, Merlin (Jody) Tucker of Durango, Duane (Karen) Tucker of Peosta, Darla Prier of Dyersville, Brad (special friend, Mandy) Tucker of Earlville, Mary Kay (Terry) Savolt of Farley and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oliver and Frances Tucker, Wilbert and Colette Grobstick; her godfather, Robert Tucker and one aunt and many uncles.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Holy Cross Fire and EMS Services and the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital ER Staff for the care given to Joyce.
