Lyle J. Dworak, 86, of La Crosse, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, in Bethany Riverside, La Crosse.
He was born in Wauzeka, on July 15, 1927, to George and Maggie (Holmes) Dworak. He married Rose Marie Gentes on Aug. 7, 1948, in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Prairie du Chien, and celebrates 65 years of marriage.
Lyle worked for the Railroad, Farm Corp Prairie. He then worked for 35 years for the Northern States Power until he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie of La Crosse; three daughters, Patricia Dworak of La Crosse, Paula M. (Scott) Andersen of La Crosse, and Shelia Rose Dworak of La Crosse; two grandchildren, Trent (friend Sarah) Marking, and Elizabeth (Cory) Gilles; four great grandchildren Hunter and Corbin Kaiser and Owen and Evan Gilles; two nephews, Tom Dworak and James (Violet) Dworak; and one niece, Kay (Randy) Boswell. He is further survived by other family, friend’s nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maggie and George; granddaughter Alethea Kaiser; four brothers; four sisters and twin sisters, and other nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held Monday, Feb. 24, in St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., La Crosse. Rev. Matthew Malnar officiated with burial held in French Island Cemetery, La Crosse.
