Jeffery Lynn Frieden
Jeffery Lynn Frieden, 53, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Elkader, died suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was born on August 16, 1960, at the Postville Hospital to Milo and Marilyn (DeWitte) Frieden of Elgin, Iowa. Jeff graduated from Valley of Elgin High School, Elgin, Iowa in 1978. Jeff attended Lincoln Tech in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from the auto mechanics program.
He worked in the parts department at John Deere for several years. He also worked as an auto mechanic and most recently as a service manager for a truck repair business in Dubuque. He enjoyed going to car races, fishing trips to Canada, boating, working on his house and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his father Milo Frieden; siblings: Mark Frieden (special friend Diana) of Cedar Rapids, Greg Frieden of McGregor, Karen Harvey of Des Moines, and Mari Ellen Koehn of Monona; nieces and nephews, Holly (Alex) Randall, Jeremy (Sara) Frieden, Rob (Joan) Frieden, Brian Harvey, Ethan Koehn and Macayla Koehn; great-nieces and great-nephews, Graham, Clayton and Jocelyn Randall, Bryce and Hanna Frieden, Cole Rempt, Haley and Ella Frieden, and Parker Koehn.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Frieden; his sister, Lisa Frieden; two nephews, Michael Frieden and Matthew Frieden.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014, at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, Iowa. Inurnment followed at Illyria Cemetery, rural Elgin. There was a visitation Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
