Arleta L. Hardt
Arleta L. Hardt, 83, of Clinton, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Mercy Living Center North.
Visitation was before services at the church.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton.
Burial was at Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque. Pallbearers were Zack Wagner, Ryan Chapman, Mike McManus, Alan Kimmer, Andrew Raab and Ethan Chapman. Honorary pallbearers were Dallas McManus and Michael Kimmer.
Arleta was born on Sept. 15, 1930, the daughter of Ervin and Alvina (Neimann) Backes. She married Frederick Hardt on July 8, 1951, in Garnavillo. Frederick passed away on Jan. 15, 2004. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton. Arleta enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidering.
Arleta is survived by her son, Ronald (Jackie) Hardt of Clinton; four step-granddaughters; 13 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley (John) Pake of Wonewoc, Wis.; a brother, Royce Backes of Garnavillo and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and an infant daughter.
