2019 Hwy. 27 reconstruction project topic of public meeting
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed alternatives and improvements for Wisconsin Highway 27 between Prairie du Chien and Eastman. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Friendship Hall in the Salem United Methodist Church, 112 S. Main Street, Eastman.
The project will involve reconstruction and rehabilitation on 9.94 miles of Highway 27 between Cipra Road in the town of Prairie du Chien and Water Street in the village of Eastman. Several horizontal curves in the rural portion will be reconstructed to current standards; the alignment of the remainder of the roadway will generally follow the existing alignment. Side road intersections, driveway entrances, and culverts and storm sewer will be replaced. The project is currently scheduled for 2019.
The public is encouraged to attend the Feb. 27 meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives and representatives from the engineering consulting firm of MSA Professional Services, Inc. will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
